Inspirations: Beoordelingen en meningen

Absolutely the best embroidery magazine in the world, the name is not Inspirations for nothing! Beautiful exclusive projects which are all clearly explained and well presented, there is always something in every magazine to make me want to grab my embroidery bag! A large number of differant stitches and projects are covered, from the typical hang-on-the-wall pictures to blankets and wearable art. Not a single kitsch cross stitch piece in sight. I would love to own all the magazines, just to page through them and see what CAN actually be done. This is more like a book then a magazine, and Inspirations really keep you up to date on what is happening in the world of embroidery. The pages even feel luxurious. I think there is something for any level/taste embroiderer. I personally think this magazine is one of the reasons I would not mind emigrating to Australia! This is in a differant league to most of the handcraft magazines I have discoverd in the Netherlands up to now (obviously I am an allochtoon) and I am delighted to have discoverd this site through which I can order Inspirations in the Netherlands. Somehow I feel this type of innovative embroidery is not yet widely practised in the Netherlands. A word of caution: some of the specified threads and notions are quite hard to source here in the Netherlands, and a very rude saleslady in a Rotterdam shop (who will never see me again) literally dismissed this foreigner with her foreign magazines who should dare search for silk embroidery thread amongst her common cottons. Inspirations magazine can become quite addictive, and is according to me the best best best quality embroidery magazine in this world.
